John and Peggy Davis came to me
with an extremely narrow lot on Lake Travis. They have lake access with
the intent of having a floating pier at some point. The design of the
house reflects the narrowness of the lot. The primary rooms, the Great
Room, Master, Kitchen and Breakfast were those that the Davis's wanted
to have a lake view.
We were able to "steal" some space for a lake view by having the
breakfast room situated over the lower driveway in a Porte Cochere of a
sort. The covered porch also serves double duty by serving as the roof
for the carport. The Davis's are fans of Lake/Flato and homes that
reflect a Texas Regional Style. The elevation incorporates the narrow
lot with the client's vision in an elegant and contemporary Texas stone
and stucco home.
