A ranch in Briggs Texas is the site for this really Texas "Ranch Style" residence. Steve and Nancy Gurasich came to me with a unique lot that would include a man-made lake, a main residence and a guest house.

Originally, the residence was only going to be a weekend retreat, but almost a year into the process, the intent changed to that of a permanent retirement home away from the hurried life of Austin.

The Gurasich's like to entertain, so the Great Room took on new significance. There are two seating areas in the 24'x32' Great Room as well as a Dining area. A separate Media Room provides the perfect place to watch the U.T. Longhorns.

Although the Gurasich's like guests, and want them to be comfortable, they did not want guests to interfere with their privacy. The first design included an attached guest house for security, it was later decided to move the guest house 100' or so away from the main house.

The three-car carport and workroom are also detached, but still connected with a walkway. The three separate structures provide a compound like effect, and save a number of great mature trees.
