It made sense with the slope of this lot to have the main living areas on the second floor with a walk-out basement. In addition, it worked well to have the garages on the lower level as well.
Finally, it is always a challenge to deal with a pool on an extremely sloped lot. This lot had a fairly flat area near the front of the lot, so a pool area with a cabana/guest room solved this challenge.
