Its very rare that you get a client in Austin that does not want to max out the lots.
Karen Collins has a different perspective, she wanted to create two affordable dwelling units on a standard city lot that had the character of a 1930s Rosedale home.
All of the pictures she shared with myself and the builder Warren Spain, were of classic English Country homes that could as easily be an 80 year old house down the street. We also had two large protected trees that we had to fit the ADU around.
I love English Country / Storybook / Fairytale homes, so I was thrilled, and I think they turned out great.
When I build one of Elliot's designs, I know that my client is getting a great value, the drawings will be flawless and the project is going to go smoothly.
He is very adept in navigating the complex development and zoning rules of the City of Austin as well as creating beautiful, thoughtful designs.
