This home was designed to be net-zero, however, many factors can influence wether a home is functionally net-zero. This can include the plans and specifications being followed, pools, electric cars, and overall homeowner habits.

This project to be built by Native in Elgin, is a great Modern Farmhouse style home.

The goal of the project is to be Net-Zero. Some passive solar design elements, include large overhangs and attention to the orientation.

Additional features include Spray foam insulation in the walls and at the roof deck, Anderson windows, Kynar coated metal roofing, Energy Star appliances, dual flush toilets, high efficiency lighting, stained concrete.

This home has a lot going on. Not only will it be Net-Zero, but it also is Multi-Gen with a mother-in-law suite, and it includes an inside/outside aviary.

Elliot was recommended to us by our builder (Build Native).

We selected him primarily because of his experience designing net-zero homes. He is very knowledgeable, attentive, and responsive.

I particularly appreciated his quick turnaround time as I’m anxious to get our home built quickly. We never had to wait long for him to produce the designs, incorporate our changes, or respond to our questions.

He also provided us with his expert and honest opinion in areas of uncertainty, which helped us make good design decisions that were both economical and aesthetically pleasing.

Elliot also did a great job incorporating a mother-in-law suite that flows well with the rest of the house.

My husband, my mother-in-law and I have no reservations about highly recommending Elliot to our family and friends, and anyone needing his services.
